Open Casting Call for Student Spokespersons
NRF Scholarship Challenge Student Spokespersons
The Nanotechnology Research Foundation (NRF) is seeking young men and young women, ages 15-20 to become student spokespersons for our organization on a volunteer basis. The chosen student spokespersons will have the opportunity of securing total or partial funds towards a scholarship for a college or university of their choice.

We are seeking charismatic, mature, well-spoken adolescents that have been good, responsible, overachieving students, particularly in math and science. Candidates must have the desire to attend a good university and pursue a career in engineering, technology or related areas. Candidates must be interested in positively impacting society through environmental or scientific/medical/healthcare careers. Candidates must be interested in learning about nanotechnology, and its role in the future of this country and our world. Candidates should have a compelling life story such as financial need, loss of parents or any other challenges or obstacles that would make it difficult for them to afford going to college.
The primary objective as an NRF student spokesperson is to bring awareness via the media about nanotechnology to other students across the US, as well as the general population, while raising funds for his/her own scholarship - college tuition and expenses.
Our student spokespersons will be fully trained for their roles since they will be exposed to journalists, TV, radio and other media for approximately three months. They may be required to travel to different cities, depending on the media pickup. The NRF would be responsible for expenses associated with their role as our student spokesperson. Candidates must be Internet savvy and have the ability to network through Facebook, My Space or any other virtual communities.
Requirements to Apply
Interested students need to provide photos, a short essay on why they would like to study engineering or related areas, why they feel they would be a good spokesperson for the NRF, letters of recommendation from at least one teacher, recent report cards and a letter from their parents authorizing their submission to the NRF.
